SURROUND

The collection SURROUND draws its name from Hiroshi Yoshimura’s 1986 ambient 
music work “Surround.” Yoshimura envisioned his music as a seamless part of the 
listener’s daily life, “the music should not be an obstacle to conversation but in the 
same family of sounds as the vibration of footsteps, the hum of an air conditioner, or 
the clanging of a spoon inside a coffee cup.”

Based on the concept of “surround”, this collection explores the intimate relationships 
between human and objects, as well as human and spaces. Inspired by Yoshimura’s 
soft, delicate, and thought-provoking musical language, the designer creates a series 
of silver enwrapping gold. Through intertwining and enveloping forms, the collection 
discusses the subtle dependencies and emotional connections that arise
